Who we are?

The Florida Art Therapy Association (FATA) is a state-level, nonprofit organization committed to the advancement and advocacy of art therapy as a regulated mental health profession.

As a proud affiliate of the American Art Therapy Association (AATA), FATA serves as the voice for art therapists across Florida. Our members work in diverse settings which include hospitals, schools, community agencies, private practice, and correctional facilities. Through using the creative process, art therapists aim to support emotional well-being, mental health recovery, and personal growth for individuals of all ages and backgrounds.

We provide professional development opportunities, legislative advocacy, networking events, and public education initiatives to support our members and raise awareness of the vital role art therapy plays in our communities. FATA is also dedicated to fostering a diverse, inclusive, and equitable professional community that reflects and serves Florida.
